I did a search and couldn't find any comprehensive info on cost of living in Oman. How much do you spend on the following things per month? Is there a significant difference between Muscat and other cities?

Rent (please include size and furnished/unfurnished)
Food
Transportation (do you rent or own a car or use taxis?)
Entertainment (movies, eating out, etc.)
utilities (gas/water/electricity, internet, etc.)
Medical (are there costs for a doctor's visit if you have insurance?)
and everything else I'm forgetting...

Thanks! My husband and I are considering moving over with our young son. We are trying to determine if we can make it on just his salary or if i need to go back to work.

If you have any experience with baby/child related costs, please include those, as well.
