|

Well, I managed to make a rookie mistake a lose my documentation, including:
1) CELTA
2) College diploma
Luckily, I had all of these things for when I had my visa dealt with earlier in 2012. That said, I am here legally on a year-long visa, and only really need these original documents for hiring purposes. I moved from Hanoi to HCMC recently - I had been working for Apollo for nine months before the move, and now am trying to find a new job.
Problem is, the turnover time for receiving duplicates and replacement documentation for these documents takes lots of time. I'm wondering if anyone knows if a school would be willing to hire without these originals if they knew that the documentation was pending. Would the fact that I was hired previously using this documentation mean anything? Could they somehow contact this other school to check?
Thanks for the help. |

Do you have any copies? You should keep the originals, hard copies, and digital copies of all your documents on hand.
If you have the copies a school might hire you, but it wouldn't be legal. To teach legally in Vietnam you need a work permit. A work permit only covers the job that you are working at when you received the permit. If you change jobs, your work permit is invalid and you need a new one. At least that's what I've been told by my current school. |

You could try Apollo again. American Academy and other mills would probably wait for your docs. But I can't say for sure. I've always been asked for originals during the hiring process. Often just when I drop off a CV. |
