Hey i am looking into schools in china and have been going through recruiting agencies, I have four offers as of right now and in fact have four contracts to consider.
quindou, i thnk public school offers 6k with room paid for
Zohngshan school which is a Canilx school, 10 k with housing included but i hear they are a strict company...
shijiazuan city which is a Shane school, 8k, with 800 for housing. seems to have good management and i spoke to the DOS who is from australia and seemed like fun
Jinlin Wuxi, also a shane school, 8800 a month with no housing
Any advice would be helpful i have no idea what i am doing.... |

If you have no idea what you're doing, my advice is to read through several pages of this forum. Lots of info to keep you busy for awhile. |

Research said jobs at said companies and try to determine if that's what you want. Job satisfaction is more than salary, so rather than just looking at housing and salary, look into the areas those schools are located. Find previous or current teachers at those schools and contact them. If you can't find current teachers to talk to, contact the school directly and have them put you in contact with someone.
There are plenty of threads about those cities as they are big cities, so it's not a problem to find info, just gotta take the time. Look at class sizes, classes per week, job expectations (office hours? English corners required?) cost of living in those areas, daily life, styles of food, so many things to consider.
If you're seriously planning to come to China you need to be researching as much as you can so you're prepared and somewhat confident coming in. |

If you can get the search function to operate try 'Job Offer Checklist' on this forum.
To the items suggested so far add:
Airfare refund - should be RMB10K.
Will all teaching be on same site? If you commute, is that time paid or unpaid?
How far is any provided accom from the teaching location?
Access to subsidised dining halls?
Are you paid for summer if you re-sign for another 12m?
Are you paid for Spring Break? In the north it can be very cold then and you do NOT want to be sitting at home because you lack the cash to get to somewhere warmer.
Are all your classes same year and subject ie Oral English? Makes a huge difference to your planning workload. |

You need housing. Otherwise you will wind up spending about 2k a month of your own money = not to mention having to fork over 4 months up front for an apartment. |
