Hey, I'm applying for all sorts of jobs all over Japan hoping to get a glorious ALT gig and start living in Japan.
Here's the situation: I've been offered a job by a placement company, who requested my info to apply for a visa. Transcripts, passport photos, etc. But I do not have an official contract, or an offer in writing. Just a "you'll make 250000 yen" when they place me with a school. I understand that they have to sell me to a BOE first before an official contract or whatever since I'd be working in a school. Anywho, so they want all my stuff so they can get me a work visa and stick me God know's where. Which I'm fine with.
My question is this. If I send all my stuff to company X, and then next week I get a better offer in a better location or what have you with company Y, can I tell company X no thanks? Or will the visa - in - process somehow keep me from getting a visa with company Y? Do I take the work visa from X and then just quit? What do I tell company Y?
I know this would be easier if I was already there, jut want to figure out the rules and whatnot, if anyone else has been in a similar situation. THANKS PEEPS. |

Yes, just apologize, and they will cancel any visa application. |

Thanks, I was worried I'd get trapped in some "you can't apply for another visa for 30 days" bureaucratic bs. Thanks good to know. |
