Hi
Does anyone have experience of/information on Mishal Apartments (part of Oasis Resorts)? Is it one of the "better" compounds in Al Khobar?
Also, a well trodden area of debate - though one which deserves a revisit now and again - living in Bahrain and commuting to Dhahran or living in KSA? Which would you recommend?
Your insight is appreciated as always |

Commuting is not a practical option if you have to teach to a timetable. Cost is also a factor. I do know of some teachers who have a base in Bahrain but live in Dhahran from Saturday to Wedsnesday.
Oasis is probably beyond the budget of an EFLer. |

I knew people who commuted. Depending on location either end and how busy the Causeway is the journey could be between 1 - 2 hours.
A company was offering a housing allowance for Bahrain instead of accommodation in Dhahran. So it is doable. |

I lived there for 9 years. Believe me, Commuting between Bahrain and Dhahran on a daily basis is NOT PRACTICAL. |

This place was the scene of a terrorist attack in 2004. Terrorists took advantage of weak security and killed 22 people there. At the time, it was run by the Saad Group. I do not know if the thoroughly discredited Saad Group still runs the place or not. By 2009 or so, numerous investigations had uncovered evidence of massive corporate malfeasance on the part of Saad Group. |
