May the Force be with you.
Game 7 result: 4-1 Toronto. Ta-ta, Ottawa --- yet again.

I'm a huge hockey fan (is that what the Leafs play? They can't even spell their name correctly), playing a couple times a week. For me, it's like zen, where I only exist in the moment and relevations spring to mind.
Unfortunately, those who've never played think it's just WWE on skates. Let's not perpetuate that myth by photos like the above. |

3 Canadian teams in the 2nd rd this is great. I say it every year but... Leafs are goin all the way baby!!!

I don't want to think about the playoffs anymore. How could my Canucks lose to Calgary? I understand Colorado or Detroit. But the Flames? We need a new goalie in a big way.
I am happy about the Leafs though. How could anyone outside of Ottawa cheer for the Senators? |

I can never remember...doe the hockey season begin, or end in the summer?
Hockey is the game where they play all year to decide which four teams don't make the playoffs??? |

Ottawa, the second most hated city in Ontario. |

>>arioch - I am with you on that one!! Can't see the bloody point of the game!
that said, I would be very happy if a Canadian team won the Cup. When was the last time a Canuck team had that honour? |

Hooray Leaf fans. Hopefully you will still be around for the Conference final to be destroyed by the 2004 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, the MONTREAL CANADIENS!!!! Playing against Philly wouldn't be half the fun. When was the last time we met in the playoffs anyway? A while, I guess, I can't remember... |

A conference final Montreal vs Toronto would be fantastic; but a Stanley Cup final between Calgary and either of those two... too good for words. (Well I would have preferred Vancouver, but dreamers can't be choosers)
And isn't the word "final" just a bit too good for the conference final, which is really just the penultimate round? |

I wondered about the name too. The reason I have heard for the spelling is that rather than the object "Leaf" they are referring to the symbol. In this case, it's acceptable to plularlize it.

I wish I could take credit for it. I - ahem - borrowed it.

Leafs - Habs last met in 78 or 79 when Montreal were winning every year.
Came within a Gretzky high stick of happening in 93...Almost happened this year and still might.
What a photo! Did they catch the guy? |

I have to admit, I was rooting for the Leafs this past round and even watched Game Seven from a local pub with some rather enthusiastic hockey fans, most of whom were rooting for the Leafs as well. That said, if they go any farther they'll kill me in the playoff pool I'm in! lol ...So the Leafs (and Habs) must lose this round. No hard feelings, eh? |
