...cnn's got it live. Curious how long their long-suffering cameraman will be stuck on what must be one of the Ultimate Dull Jobs in the world!
My work colleagues are bantering about such dubious gems as...
What will Cardinals be served for sustenance? (Eggs Benedict).
Holding my breath on early deliverance!!!
How's the Pope-watch going in your neck of the woods, wherever that may be? |

Dear spiral78,
Well, I don't think I'll be able to tear myself away from watching the paint on my wall dry long enough to enjoy that even more enthralling event .
Regards,
John |

Boring. Especially when there is horseracing at Cheltenham. The betting on horses is much better organised. Probnably more honestly conducted too. |

Boring? Gentlemen, history in the making!
(no, I'm not wasting a single second watching it myself, but c'mon - at least pretend a little interest;-)) |

Well, looks like we'll have to try to sleep peacefully even in the absence of a pope in the world tonight. Remember to say your beddy-bye prayers!!
Chimney watch resumes bright and early tomorrow; you North Americans need to set your alarms so that you won't miss a second of the smoke-watch. |

Polish pontiffs, German pontiffs. Always seems to come back to smoke belching from chimneys... |

The next pope could be from Brazil (home of 40% of the world's Catholics), or from Africa?
Any guess? |

Watching the balcony....would be so amazing to see a black man step out there as next pope...fingers crossed! Old white guys have had more than enough years of this .... (nothing against our favourite white guys here, of course! but a little variety....) |
