BREAKING NEWS: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has died after a two-year battle with cancer, Vice President Nicolas Maduro says:

So, what do you think - was he a "savior" or a "dictator"?
Should Venezuela cry for him?

Regardless of how one fees about his politics, he will have an important place in Latin American history. I think there will be some serious blowback in Venezuela over the coming months over his successor and his departure weakens leftist movements in neighbouring countries like Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. Trade group Mercosur may regain their footing.
Interesting times afoot in that part of the world. |

I liked him very cheerful but I met a man from Venazuale who really didn't like him at all and said he didn't like him so maybe not everyone liked him. I dont think he was a dictator though that is too strong.

| The Spanish TV has shown Venezuelan expats dancing in the streets of Miami. Poor Huguito! Meanwhile, his likely successor, Nicolas Maduro, appears to think that the Venezuelan people are retards and is telling them that the Commandante�s cancer was deliberately provoked by a foreign enemy! Thank God I was born in the UK. |

Well they voted for Chavez! 
ACtually, I am joking a bit but did you know that Chavez believed that the Moon landing was a hoax and a few other daft things.

Was is Chavez who referred to Bush as �Mr. Danger� and a �drunkard�? |

| Apparently, they can�t embalm Hugo�s body as they had wished since it has started to rot. Makes you wonder how long he was dead before he died officially. |
