|
|
Thanks for responding to my last "Selery" post (now I know its "celery").
But the last poster made a good point, what is average for some might be high (or even low) for others.
So, to even it out abit, I'm doing another poll to find out what is your normal monthly wage (including privates and stuff).
And I hear alot that the main factor is location; the further you are from civilization, the more money you get. Is that what some of you are getting at?
BTW~ In keeping jest with my poor spelling and equally poor grammar, and to simply piss off the "professionals" who have nothing to do but to "nitpick" all the spelling and grammar mishaps found in every post. |

I think you'll find it's actually the reverse. Salaries (and the cost-of-living including rent) are higher in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and other big cities.

For my part it was all tongue-in-cheek (why am I so misunderstood by my peers?).

location, location, location AND
the whole package.
what is paid for and what do you pay for?
what is in your pocket/bank account at the end of the semester?
enough to hit the beach in Bali?
some people have health beneifts, others zero care.
some have furniture and a bed that is comfortable. some have a bath-tub, a clothes dryer (not a rack - a real machine), western cable tv, etc.
so how do we ad it all up? |

People lie about this stuff online.
On that thread Bookworm was talking out of his bottom. He insisted that he made more than the maximum that the program he claimed to be on offered.
So was I, just in case you couldn't tell.
I'm not sure how accurate this poll is going to be. Just be aware that the data might not reflect reality.
For the record, I make "not much." |

I agree, do you just count the paycheck as salary? |

Cripes I seem to make less than average! But I save more than half of it - one of the pluses of living in a small city, I guess. |

So on the one we hand we teach our stduents that it is not appropriate to ask people how much they earn ; and then we ask each other.
What is going on here ? |

For a private school, my hourly rate isn't too hot, but I live in a great apartment, even if we do share. Having a Chinese wife, I save nearly all of my beer tokens. You people might think you're experts at this or that, but nobody can touch me for spending money, so it gets turned over to my personal manager (voluntarily, believe it or not ), then it goes into my bank account. I have to ask for it back, so we can keep a check on how much I spend. God only knows where it goes. Hang on, I'll ask my liver. |
