This is going out to Glenski (or anyone with experience in such matters).
I arrived in Japan with a job lined up. However it feels pretty shady. I won't say with who or where.
I am looking for an alternative to searching out any place that will sponsor me, rather I want to line something up where my gf lives - the old capital. I know full well how hard it is getting something started here.
My question is how easy would it be for her father, who is extremely well off, to sponsor a visa. Would he have to open a school?
We have talked about doing something like that and I know it would take time to pull in students and such. But, if he can sponsor me I can work part time until things get off the ground.
The main issue is getting a visa. I have a place to stay. Money isn't an issue. I have loads of experience teaching.
What are my options. I feel sticking it out with the company that has hired me will cost me a large chunk of my sanity. |

Are you concerned that the company that hired you won't actually get you a visa?
If that's not what concerns you, and if you're willing & able to take the self-employment route, there is very little to stop you from just walking away. |

Your visa is yours to keep until it expires, you can leave your job with nothing else lined up, move to Kyoto and take your time to try and find something. |
