They're a fairly important feature of our profession, and knowing them can mark out a newbie from an old hand.

Let's list.

May I request a thread rule, please?

ONE ACRONYM/INITIALISM PER POST ONLY.
That's because it would be interesting to see how many we come up with - I'm expecting pages and pages Very Happy .

I'll start off with a really basic one:
