I am interested in hearing from people who currently work for Jiangnan University North American College teaching in the business program. If you are now working for, or have recently taught there; what are/were your experiences? I would like to hear both positive and negative.

I am also interested. Any pertinent information such as the quality of the students and their English level, class size, administration, campus life, etc. would be most useful.

I don't work there, but my wife studies at that university in a different department. We also live nearby, so I know the campus and a few of the teachers there. They used to have a joint program with Lambton College in Canada, of which I'm assuming the new name North American College is a spin off. There were some grumblings from the former Lambton teachers about being overworked for the pay offered, but then again that goes for many of the tertiary level schools here.

I also got an email offer from them saying they need a whopping 35 teachers next semester, which means they are either opening a new department, or the vast majority of their FTs are leaving this semester which doesn't bode well. They *do* seem to have a high staff turnover.

I'd be inclined to ask on www.wuxilife.com, and also check the blog of a guy who works there, David. http://www.themaninchina.com/site/ for a general overview of the place. Or shoot him an email too. I've met him and his wife a few times and they are nice enough people who I'm sure would be happy to answer any questions.

For what it's worth it's a very nice campus in a pretty part of Wuxi. Huge contingent of foreign students also, so it has a relatively cosmopolitan feel to the place. A lot of English around if your Chinese is lacking. Easy and fast enough to get to banks, supermarkets, KFCs, malls, downtown etc.

As far as the school program and curriculum I can't help too much, but would be happy to answer any questions about the neighborhood/general environment if you need. PM if necessary.
