As those of you who have read any of my earlier posts may know, I am "on the ground" in Mexico (Culiacan), and looking to make a change after two years at a prepa that has some of the usual prepa issues. Sort of a high pay, high headache situation.

There are also big changes coming up at my school (already underway, really) that make it desirable to move on now.

My specific question in this thread is, are there any recruiters that specialize in Mexico and the Americas, especially located right here in Mexico?

I have read that TeacherMexConnect charges a fee, and may be scammy (or at least somewhat misrepresenting of what it really offers for your money).

I have read likewise about Serious Teachers.

I have read that teach-english-mexico.com charges a SUBSTANTIAL fee (although there is currently a "sale"), but may actually be able to link applicants with real jobs. However, this note at the website gives me pause: "If you contact us for placement AFTER arrival in Mexico, it will be difficult for us to help." (Say what? You would think it would be EASIER to help in that circumstance...)

That's what I know about. Are there services I don't know about?

I'm not familiar with this group, given the new visa requirements, the statement:

...should be very correct, assuming they help with job offers and visas, starting the process in your home country.

I'm looking for a teaching job in Mexico myself and came across this site, but can't testify to how good/bad it is...

Fitzgerald, you may have found Guy's comment somewhat enigmatic.

What he was referring to is the requirement- new to Mexican Law- that you must apply for a visa at a consulate or embassy outside Mexico, if you're seeking to accept an offer of employment and permission to work in Mexico; hence, the recruiter's comment.
