Yep. Last week, we experienced missing students (because their drivers didn't show up) as well as some workers and a few teachers; the jawazat were noticeably out in full force here in Jeddah. By the way, for those of you using a private driver for your daily transportation needs, ask to see his iqama, or else you may find yourself stranded and having to pay for taxis.

I wonder how this will impact Chemtech and other mendacious recruiters who send teachers to the Kingdom on business visas? And there are large EFL employers-such as Shabaka in Hofuf-who routinely bring in teachers on business visas and send them to Bahrain every few months.
The enforcement of these decrees will almost certainly vary-depending largely on whether the owner has much wasta.
