I think a lot of us here are looking at having some time off this summer - and I think probably a lot of us here are thinking about taking that time off to - go back to work. Summer camps are all over Asia, but for those of us spending our first year in China, can anyone tell us what Chinese summer camps are like?In particular, what kind of salary can we expect/hope for? And will they sponsor our visas, or should we head back over to Korea for the summer? |

I heard of one School where they offer 6,000 rmb for 4 weeks teaching in the summer but I think it is 6 days a week. I am going to Australia for two months this year, but next year I will teach during the summer break I think.
As my contract ends in June, I will not be getting paid for July and August but will start a new contract on September 1st.
I think if were being paid for those two months, the School would expect me to teach some summer classes - in which case I could not go elsewhere and earn extra money. Is this the norm? |

I will be teaching a 4-week program starting in mid-July and the salary will be 6500 + 1000 for living expenses/transportation + 1200 meal stipend. However, it is 6 days a week 3 periods in the AM and 3 in the PM (afternoon). It is at a different place than my current school but, since I have signed a new contract next year, I can stay here free of charge. So, I am in a win-win situation this year. I'm already here, so I don't have to buy a plane ticket and my current school will renew my work visa before the end of this school term.
Summer jobs are hiring RIGHT NOW, so if you want to work one, you better be doing some inquiries and applying now. The place I'm working for is almost full I think, but if you are in the Zhejiang province (or want to come here for the summer) here is the web address:
