I have a 120 hour TEFL

I spent a year in University studying banking but am in the middle of changing my course...taking a gap for a year or two.

I will have 3 months of teaching experience before I go to Thailand in August and then maybe I will teach some there. Some of my experience will be private tuition for monks, some of my experience will be teaching beginner classes, some of my experience will be teaching intermediate classes, and 2 months of my experience will be spent teaching in a school.

I consider myself a good teacher. I am smart, confident, kind, have a good sense of humor and also having experience teaching sales in my previous job. I have had experience learning french to a near fluent standard.

Where do you think I can find work in Indonesia?

Do you have a degree in English? That will make a big difference as to where you can find work.

Are you sure you are or want to be an English teacher with this kind of sentence??

"Some of my experience will be private tuition for monks, some of my experience will be teaching beginner classes, some of my experience will be teaching intermediate classes, and 2 months of my experience will be spent teaching in a school"

Perhaps EF might be a good place to look...

Thanks for your replies.

No, I don't have a degree unfortunately or fortunately rather, I am in the middle of changing my course after having spent a year at university.

Lol, your right, that sentence was pretty poor.

So English First for Indonesia right, would you suggest emailing them and seeing what happens from there.

Many thanks.

To be honest buddy, if you want work in Indonesia English First is maybe the best place to start. You'll always be busy with classes there, you'll gain some good teaching experience and then once you've done a couple of years you'll be able to find a better paid job.

English First is a good place to start any career in Indonesia but the pay while improving is still fairly average compared to many, but when you are a teacher with no experience you're not going to be paid lots of money.

But as Chezal advises above, you'll need a degree - BA minimum - in order to be issued a work visa. And also I think, as an indicator, that you're willing and able to stick to a significant workload at times. These are my observations here at EF Bali. Rgds

Indonesia may not be the best country for you. There are a lot of teachers trying to make ends meet since the new laws came into affect. The cost of living is also higher than in some other Southeast Asian countries.

You could always try the Living in Indonesia Forum, which has "Job Whispers". It isn't a very well organized site but if you search through it all, you might get some good leads.
