So, I'm considering quitting my job before the end of my year contract at AEON. Reading the policy manual, it states various things about what will happen if I quit before my year is up, but the one's that worrying me is this:

The company notifies the Immigration Department of the situation and visa sponsership will be terminated.

Could someone please explain what is eant by this? I have a three year Humanities Specialist visa, so how can they 'terminate my sponsership'?

Thank you for your help.

As I understand it, they can terminate the sponsorship, but the visa is still valid. You need to either find another sponsor for when you renew, or self-sponsor by demonstrating you have sufficient income.

However, the visa regulations changed quite recently, so I might be giving you information that is no longer valid.

I think plenty of people have quit Aeon and moved on to another employer without the panda cars coming for them.

I sincerely hope so! I think I would commit murder if I had to work out my three month notice. Thank you both for taking the time to reply to me Smile

If you have a new job lined up that's a completely different matter. Assuming they're willing to sponsor you, which they should be, you should have nothing to worry about at all.
