Of interest to expat Canadians.
http://globalnews.ca/news/469786/passport-office-to-slash-staff-jobs-as-it-rolls-out-new-chip-embedded-documents/
As of July 1, Canadians ordering passports from outside the country will see the biggest jump in fees. It will cost $190 to apply for, or receive, the five-year document in another country, up from $97. The fee will be $260 for the 10-year version requested under the same circumstances.
Childrens passports applied for outside the country will rise to $100. |

No more distinguishing on age? I think I paid $20 for aged 0-2 and $35 for the aged 2-5.
Either way, that's quite the increase. |

Thanks for the link!......my passport is still good for another two years but I will seriously consider getting the ten year passport next time.
Regardless of the cost.........not having to bother with this every five years is worth the extra coin. |
