Have also posted this on the Italy forum but need answers asap so please excuse the pearoast:
Can I live on 1,000 euros a month in Palermo - renting a decent room in shared accommodation? Will I have enough money for the odd train ride, flight home, meal out, shopping trip? Or is that salary just covering food, bills, rent and daily transport
Also, anyone got much info on the John Milton school in Palermo? They're recruiting for a teacher now, which is never a good sign IMHO.
thanks |

Yes, you can live there on 1000 euros a month but you ll need to be careful.
One thing to consider is the streets outside the centre and in parts of the centre, are, at the time of writing, full of piles of rotting rubbish. Apparently this is not the first time it's happened and is unlikely to be the last...
I m currently working at another school in a crappy town elsewhere on the island. PM me if you want any more info about living and working in Sicily.
apologies if this reply is too late to help. |
