"According to the National census data, China is home to 234,829 Hong Kong-ers, 21,201 Macao-ers, and 170283 Taiwanese. For those keeping count, that means that there are 593,832 people from other countries also living in China! The National census data report was kind enough to rank those countries, listing the top ten in terms of populations in China: Koreans came in first with 120,750 people, Americans, came second with 71,493 people, Japanese came in third with 66,159 people, followed up by Burma\Myanmar with 39775 people, Vietnam with 36,205 people, Canada with 19,990 people, France with 15,087 people, India with 15,051 people, Germany with 14,446 people, and Australia with 13,286 people. Finishing up the list, there are 181,589 people from other countries also residing in the Middle Kingdom."

Perhaps they got Brits and Canadians confused. Given the population of Canada, and given that I have not run into THAT many Canadians over the years here, I wonder about the figure.

I agree.
I have worked at 3 schools (1xuni, 2xvocationals) in 2 major cities over a 10-year period and have not come across many Canadians. Lots of Brits though.

Interesting. It's really a pretty small number in the massive population of Chinese.

True. Not many Canadians in China in my experience. I guess they mostly head for Korea. That place is saturated with them.

Most Canadians would be Chinese who had emigrated to Canada.
