Could you live in a capsule on Mars for the rest of your life?
Personally, living in provincial China has been isolating enough for me.
Speaking in New York, the CEO of Mars One, Bas Lansdorp, launches a search for volunteers to spend the rest of their lives on Mars. He plans to send four volunteers aged between 18 and 40 years old to establish the first permanent human colony on the red planet in 2023, with new missions joining them every two years after that

Without even reading the article, I'll answer a definite "NO WAY". Why would anyone want to spend his/her life away from where all the people, oxygen, trees, cities, and things that make life what it is? Maybe a crazy person would like to, maybe someone who is so bored/boring that they can't think of anything else to do here. Perhaps it would be a good way of getting rid of criminal populations. I suppose our species will need to get off Earth at some point though, so I guess someone will have to be the first. Godspeed to them. |
