I am working for a place that has no placement test for placing students. I've thought of writing one myself (though I'm not sure how well I'd do), but thought I'd ask if anyone has used tests from publishers. These would be tests to place students in the correct level according to the Common European Framework. If you've used these tests, which ones? And which ones did you like? Or did you or the place you work for create their own?

I did try to search through the forum on this topic, but couldn't find anything specific.

Oxford Placement Test is fairly reliable. Cannot remember if it is based on the CEF scales, but I think it is. In any case, it will be better than anything that is slapped together in most schools. Good for large numbers of intake, and easily clerically marked.

Thanks for the link. I'll pass it onto the school and see if they would order it. Maybe I'll see if I can get a copy myself.
