Hello all

I might be interested in doing an efl stint in China but it would probably have to just be for 6 months, and starting in January next year. Do you think this would be possible? I would prefer to teach adults, e.g. university work or business people. Thanks for any advice you can give.

It's possible, I suppose, but you probably wouldn't get full airfare reimbursement (that's usually the 10 month-one year contract; half per term). In addition, after you complete the six months, you will return to your native land (I'm assuming). You'd break even at best, in the hole at worst.

My first job in China was on a 5 month contract.
The previous FT did not return for the second semester, so I was hired.
I was given a full reimbursement round-trip airfare, but I think that was offered only because they needed someone at the last minute.
