Hey,
I wanted to start a thread about this since it seems like they have a lot of positions. I got my contract this weekend and it seems alright. The only thing is that one needs a "Certificate of Citizenship" and for a US citizen such as myself, it's $600! Has anybody else who's taught in Turkey needed this? Does something else work?
As far as the deposit, that seems to be OK. Not many people are writing bad things about it, so I'm assuming they're really good at paying it back at the end of the contract.
Also, if you're thinking of doing the same program post on this thread and say hello or post questions here and maybe everyone can help. |

Never heard of that requirement before, are you sure the contract is the best you can find in Turkey?
Maybe asking calsimsek would be a good idea? |

This sounds like such a scam. Teach to Travel is a middle man company taking your hard-earned money. With a little bit of leg work, you can find a higher paying position at a better school without paying any fees. Would you pay a fee in your home country to find a job? We don't do that in Turkey, either. |

My foreigner contacts in Turkey assure me that they have never heard of this. Would strongly recommend steering well clear. |

I guess a passport does suffice, the wording on the contract made it seem like something more "significant" was required. |

Hey yeh the contract's confused me a bit too, tho apparently its written in turkish and translated to english for our benefit so some of the clauses come out a bit peculiar! They've been great at responding to my questions am still mulling it over but pretty sure I'm gonna go with them |

It's not a scam it's just a crap job. Any school that does not take the care to locate their own teachers must be a cause for concern. The pay is also pathetic. The tefl industry is full of organisations that want to get you to work as much as possible for as little as possible, this company panders to schools who operate more as businesses than schools.
Accept at your peril |

Been out of the country now five years, used to know all about this stuff. The last report I read indicated that they were going to make it simple to get a work permit.
The best way work this out is to vist the web site and type in work permit. |

Hi,
Be careful with this website! It seems to be a real joke as it's really full of mistakes too...
I tried to apply once and they ask you to read the "terms" and then agree, as you'd have to do in most websites, though...
The problem is that there's actually no "terms" to read at all... |
