I am so out of the loop regarding British TV nowadays. Can anyone recommend some interesting shows to watch and how I might watch them on the net?
Thank you! |

'The Thick of It' isn't exactly new but it's very good. There was also a crime drama called 'The Killing' which was remade for the UK. I think the original was Danish or Dutch or something. I've not seen it but it gets rave reviews. If you like Steve Coogan 'The Trip' is good as well. |

There's a new series called Vicious, starring Sir Ian McKellan and Derek Jacobi. It might not be everyone's cuppa, but the first episode at least has been uploaded to YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OYtcu-4fxs . Another series, more drama than horror, that I quite enjoyed recently was the 3-part In the Flesh, again available on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKkcnt1e118 |

As an Englishman, I honestly think British dramas suck when compared to American.
Have you watched Game of Thrones? It's HBO, but a lot of the cast are British, if that counts. |

American shows can be very good, and have nice long runs, but have you seen some of the copies they've done of UK shows, OneJoelFifty? QAF, Skins, and Sherlock, to name but three. The US versions were pretty dire. And much as I like "originals" such as e.g. The Walking Dead, there is a lot less innovation and much more going round in circles in its 3 series of umpteen episodes than there were in those three episodes of In The Flesh. But FWIW some of my fave US shows (off the top of my head) have been: Frasier, The West Wing (well, the first couple of series at least), and The Pacific. |

A friend told me about this BBC doc called The Century of Self. It's about how PR people and the governments try to control the behavior of the people. Here's part one. Interesting stuff.
