If you sign a contract with a Turkish university, read the contract carefully- particularly about the flight reimbursement. Don't assume that you will be reimbursed for the initial flight ticket you bought to move to Turkey. Although MANY international jobs reimburse you for the ticket you buy to move to the new country, my university (and perhaps others) will NOT reimburse you for any moving expenses - only a NEW ticket you purchase to RETURN to your home country. Even if your original ticket is a round-trip (to be used 12 months after the first flight), you likely WON'T get reimbursed. Be sure to ask about this point in your contract.

Consider yourself very fortunate to get back what you did. In my experience very few (if any) workplaces in Turkey will pay you your fare back to get here. You must live in a very special world to think otherwise, let me guess, you are not European, am I right? |
