|
|
Hey. There must be loads of summer camps in Italy, Spain, France, Turkey etc. etc. but it seems kind of difficult to find them.
Checking tefl.com there's loads of camps for the UK - currently over 190 job postings. But where can one search and find summer camps in other parts of Europe? Can anyone recommend a good web-page or 2?
I'm trying to break the cycle of having to return to the UK every summer - I don't fancy another cold and wet summer if possible - even though the money is much better back there.
Cheers, and Happy Summer. |

I'm having the same problem! Loads of adverts in the U.K. but a real lack of adverts for Italy/Spain/Greece etc. |

I think a big part of the lack of jobs is likely that the local teachers have busily grabbed up everything going, to avoid starvation over the bleak and barren summer months... |

I'm actually still in Spain now (and was last year too), but I've hardly seen anything advertised.
Looks like I'll be chasing the money for a few weeks back in Blighty and then be unemployed wondering what the hell to do next come August (as usual). |

sublime,
What qualifications do you have? If you have at least a BA or even better an MA and a DELTA, then you might pick up a pre-sessional teaching post. Look at jobs.ac.uk or BALEAP websites. Most of these university posts offer accommodation and about 650 GB pounds per week. |

If you fancy Italy, check out summer camps through
http://www.aliceincitta.org
They offer about 300 euros a week + room and board.
This was recommended by a former student of mine who was studying Italian. |

Berlitz in Germany pay 450 euros a week but unfortunately you have to travel to Berlin for a training day in the beginning of June. |

I've got a degree and a CELTA.
Maybe I'll try there. Thanks.
It's interesting and at least I have relative freedom but to be honest I'm kind of getting fed up of living on the poverty line and being unemployed every summer. |
