|

Hi all,
After months of stalking these boards, I've joined Dave's ESL cafe and submitting my first post!
I am looking for a TEFL job abroad and would love one which gives me a lot of time off for a chance to travel. One like the English school summer holidays of 6 weeks would be fantastic, but do TEFL jobs or schools abroad with weeks-months of holdays exist? I've been looking mainly at South Korea for my jobs but by no means is that decision set in stone. Even if it's unpaid leave, I'm not that fussed - would be nice to save some money while being a teacher but that's not the primary reason for me to seek a job abroad.
A bit about me:
- English born and bred (23 years old)
- BA Hons (2:1) in History
- 120 hours TEFL certificate.
Any advice would be very much appreciated |

K-12 school jobs in Asia typically offer extended vacation time (usually with pay).
Language centers typically do not.
Language centers tend to hire year-round.
K-12 schools typically tend to hire for start of term with recruitment happening 90-120 days prior to term start. (start of term varies depending on the country in question)
- Korea - March
- Japan - April
- Thailand - May
- China - Sept.
