I had a face to face interview with the Turkish American Association in Ankara last year. They offered me a job on the spot and I rejected it.

First, the building and the facilities are really old and depressing. When I came for the interview, there were no other native teachers working there. The manager dodged my questions about lesson plan preparation and the materials/assistance that the school provides as best as she could, but as far as I can tell teachers prepare all the lessons from scratch and aren't paid for it. The salary was a joke--1200 TL per month for 20 teaching hours and, if I remember, 8 TL per hour for any additional hour above that. No housing assistance. Dubious food available for free. Unspecified Turkish lessons also available.

You should avoid the TAA at all costs. I don't know why they're so poor that they can't pay their teachers a living wage, buy books, white boards, or other basic teaching materials. It's either a scam or poor management. You should avoid the place.
