Hello,
I have been offered a position at this college. I have searched the forums but haven't found much info. If anyone has worked here or has any info, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

I hear it's ok. I spoke to a teacher there very recently, and they didn't have anything bad to say about the place.
It's not exactly near to the city; maybe half an hour away, but it's near to a big University with lots of foreign teachers. Maybe not all that many foreign teachers at NIT itself.
Sorry I don;t have many details, but I'd say there are no red flags. If you come to Ningbo, send me a pm when you arrive and maybe we can go for a drink. Ningbo's a pleasant enough city. Feel free to ask me any questions about Ningbo. |

I haven't worked there, but worked in the university down the road from them. NIT (it's called Li Gong in Ningbo) is quite a nice university by Chinese standards. It's a little way out from the city centre (25 - 35 mins by bus), but there is now a very large shopping and entertainment centre a few minutes away. I've had several friends who worked there in the past and not heard any of them complain about it too much. |

Anyone have updates on uni? I will be speaking to them tomorrow. I found one entry on another board that was not very flattering (fao issues). |

What exactly did you read? There's lots of complaints on various fora, some legit others not. |

It was a post from back in 2006 on another forum. There were various issues listed by the poster (salary, teacher treatment, teacher removal without notice, etc). However, I have not seen anyone corroborate this information. There is a post, referencing second hand information, on this board that says there are no major problems with the uni. However, sample size is not large enough to make a judgement. |

Best source of information: teachers who are working there now. Ask the school for email addresses of current or recent foreign teachers. (Or telephone or skype/qq/msn etc. numbers.) If the school seems awkward about this request, it could be a bad sign. If they have enough foreign teachers, chances are one of them would be willing to answer questions from you. Of course, you could be in touch with a whinger/whiner or otherwise malcontent but just try to get real objective information regarding problems or to the contrary, what makes the school a winner. |

I'm in the same situation, currently considering a contract from NIT. I read that post on another forum that made me weary aswell haha. Going to ask for contact details of some foreign teachers that are there just now to see what they think of it. |
