Are Letters Of No Objection still required to obtain a job? Some employers simply do not give them and only give a final exit visa. What is the current information on the subject? |

Not required by the government, but I've heard that you might not get hired by a company unless you have one. That's all I know. |

They are still required by many employers. The official explanation is " THJE NOC/LONO IS NO LONGER A LEGAL REQUIREMNT. It may be an administratvive requirement"
I know that KFUPM ask for one - but will not give one to those leaving ! |

Sometimes, schools/universities will use the letter as proof of employment; The thought being if you could get one, then you must have left your last position on good terms. I asked for a letter as I was in the process of leaving my first job in KSA and one of my bosses (and the folks at HR) said that he didn't want to give me one because he didn't want me to coming back and working for the completion. |
