Hello,
I just recently got to Taipei and I bought a cell phone with a new SIMs card. The problem is on May 1st the ROC changed the rules regarding cellphones for visitors, that is, unless you have an ARC you cannot register/activate your SIMS card. So I am looking for anyway who has an extra activated card that I can buy from them. I have the cellphone I just need an already activated card. I will pay for any time that might be on the card plus whatever you think is fair. Please email me.... [email protected]
Thanks my name is Steve |

Howdy, Steve:
Welcome back to Taiwan, dude! My best advice is to get yourself a good, trustworthy local friend. That was the route I first took. Believe it or not, a lot of Taiwanese actually LIKE helping us poor, lost foreigners!

Whoa, that is a STUPID rule. In the Netherlands I got a SIM card without even registering/linking it to my identity. Funny enough, NL has one of the highest rates of official eavesdropping into telephone calls. But this is just plain wrong to discriminate against people who are visiting but want to make phone calls. They should repeal it... I thought this was the year to increase tourism, after all--talk about tourist un-friendly.
Just my two cents! |
