Did you do a search? There have been a number of threads about them.

When I requested a search on this group, I found nothing. Have searched Education Experts. |

Plenty of threads on this matter.
As usual, there's a mixed opinion about this outfit.
What I can say it's one of the biggest players in the Education Recruitment Industry. The company has many contracts with major universities all over KSA.
Any recent opinions from EFL Teachers who are currently working for them? |

Thanks to all for information on the company, and special thanks to those who wrote me privately to discuss the so-called visiting work visa.
It's best to pass on this opportunity. First, it is too difficult to get back to the States to apply for the lawful visa; secondly, no compound is provided and living in an apartment without the community freedom seems just too hard for a western woman.
Best. |

The visa is called a work visit visa: http://www.samspassport.com/visa/saudiarabia.shtml
Apparently, this visa is good for a short period and can be renewed for up to a full year.
These job forums are good because, as times change, we can all get up to speed on the latest trends. This form of visa is legit, and is handled internally within the KSA. |

Dear Moonshadow_51,
When one downloads the "Company Letter of Guarantee," it seems that this "Short Work Visit Visa" is actually a "Business Visa."
"EXAMPLE OF A COMPANY LETTER OF GUARANTEE
FOR SAUDI ARABIA BUSINESS VISA"
The "Sam's" site may call it a "Short Work Visit Visa," but if you go to any Saudi Embassy site, you won't find such a visa listed - at least, I can't find it.
And working in Saudi on a "Business Visa" is still illegal.
Regards,
John |

Who is this Sam? This could be just another example of how you can't believe everything you read on the internets.
If you can get in writing from the Saudi Embassy that this is true, then I would believe it... otherwise, it could mean that "Sam" is just in cahoots with the employers.

I did a Google search on the work visit visa and this "Sam" is just one of many agencies which expedite the service. Nothing shady. |

Dear Moonshadow_51,
Why then, I wonder, do the Saudi Embassies not list "the work visit visa" on their websites?
For example, the Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C. lists these;
Traveler's Information
Visas
Contact the visa section of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, DC, or one of the Saudi Arabian consulates in New York, Houston or Los Angeles.
Business Visit Visa
Diplomatic And Official Visa
Employment Visa
Extension of Exit/Re-Entry Visa
Family Visit Visa
Government Visit Visa
Residence Visa
Student Visa
Transit Visa
Temporary Work visa
Hajj Visa
Umrah Visa
Adding a Newborn to a Saudi Residence Card
And for the Saudi embassy in London:
Consular Services - Other Visas
Saudi Arabian Consular Office
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Circular for all Travel Agencies that provide visit and work visas
Diplomatic / Special Visa
Businessmen Visa
BUSINESS VISAS
WORK VISA
FAMILY VISIT OR RESIDENCY VISA
Extention of Exit Re-entry visa
Medical Form
How to get the e number
Names and Addresses of UK Travel Agents for visa Services
Circular for accredited travel agents for visa services
Requirements for legalization
and notes this on the "Business Visa" page:
"Notes:
"Visitors should not overstay the time granted on the visa.
Business visas do not grant the applicant the right to work or to reside in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
By the way, the "Temporary Work Visa" is the one all we teachers get, good for six months. Once you arrive in the Kingdom, you hand over your passport and get your iqama.
The "Employment Visa" mentioned on the Washington, D.C. embassy site
would be for "block visas" (usually issued for laborers - which is probably why there's no page when you click on that link. All you get is this: "Bad Request.")
Regards,
John |

I have no idea, John. Really, none at all.
I'm the one who initially asked the question on this thread, so don't expect answers from me.
My last comment is a report back from the visa liaison in Riyadh, who told me I would pick up my visa in Istanbul at the Saudi Embassy.
That's all I know... and I'd like to know more. |

Dear Moonshadow_51,
If you should find out anything, I, for one, would greatly appreciate it if you could post the information here.
But this reminds me of what I used to say in Riyadh:
Do you know what the hardest thing to find in Saudi is? It's not booze, it's not drugs, it's not Viagra (or someone to use it with.)
IT'S THE RIGHT INFORMATION!!!!!
Ask four people, you'll often get four (or even more) different answers.
Patience is one thing anyone needs a LOT of in the Kingdom.
Regards,
John |

Hello, John -
I'll get back to you one way or another and may just let this situation unfold on its own before cancelling.
Best,

Hey John,
Could it be the "temporary work visa"? Or is that the one that you enter on to get the legitimate iqama?
