I'm going to try to get hired directly. I'm trying to avoid recruiters. Who does the direct hires for women in SA? Any information is appreciated. |

A few threads related to your questions:

Women-only institutions include Dar Al Hekma College, Effat University, and Princess Noura University. The first two hire directly; however, I'm not sure about PNU. It relies heavily on contracting companies for staffing needs, so it's not clear if there are direct-hire opportunities.
Additionally, you can find a list of Saudi colleges and unis at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_universities_and_colleges_in_Saudi_Arabia --- You'll have to determine which ones hire (women) directly by visiting their employment pages on their individual websites. Otherwise, periodically check TESOL Arabia, TESOL International, and higheredjobs.com for current openings. Recruitment season for the 2014-2015 academic year will begin within the next few months, so you're bound to see postings soon. |

There are many teachers who are contracted and paid directly by PNU. This fact has been repeated several times by various posters, so I am not sure what is unclear about that. We live on campus in excellent accommodations, make better money than our SBC, Edex and QEHC colleagues and have more paid summer vacation time. Additionally, over a dozen teachers who worked for contractors last year have had their iqamas and sponsorship transferred over to PNU this year. In spite of what has been written here by the old-timers and self-proclaimed experts on all things Saudi, iqama transfers can and do occur though admittedly not without some agonizing speed bumps along the way. |

So... tell her how to do it since you appear to have all the answers. Direct her to their advertising... or give her the website... or something...

Ditto that.
Myohmy:
Since you deem my posts as unhelpful, why not provide the OP (and the other poster on the related previous thread) info about applying as direct-hire opportunities at PNU as well as the specific working/living conditions? That certainly would be more useful than jumping on my comments. And frankly, it's been awhile since these types of questions about PNU have been asked. |

I guess my question should have been: "Who has in recent years done direct hire for women?" Things seem to change from year to year.

It's not about which universities have recently employed female teachers directly---that only indicates that particular university most likely no longer has openings. Besides, hiring season hasn't begun yet. As previously mentioned, major recruitment for direct hires (for male and female teachers) generally hits between February through May/June for the upcoming academic year---that's when job ads are posted on those sites I listed. That time frame doesn't change from year to year, although, sometimes during other months of the year, a university may have a number of openings left over to fill for whatever reasons.
Recruitment efforts are by the universities themselves and not through any outside entities. PNU, if it still hires directly, might use an outside recruiter for direct staffing. Hopefully, someone who presently teaches there can give specifics. (I mention PNU because it's a women's university; however, many other Saudi unis have campuses for both men and women.)
Anyway, keep your eyes peeled for listings on the job sites I provided. Alternately, visit the websites of individual universities to check if they've posted openings. I suggest starting with the government unis in the major cities of Riyadh and Jeddah. |
