Anyone dealt with the school Thinkling? Thinkling.pl is the web address. It's located in Warsaw. |

Ok, since they've said plainly what they're going to do I don't see the harm in posting it here. Thinkling.pl is refusing to pay me for a month and a half of work. The school is also known as "On The Ball".
The school lost the contract with the business for the next semester and are now refusing to pay me (it wasn't because of me, my students were very happy).
I knew something was sketchy, because I was supposed to meet with the moss "jakub" in late May, but a meeting was never arranged. I asked about it and never received a response. I contacted them because I hadn't received payment for May, but they had paid the 200zl they owed me for the classes in April so I wasn't terribly worried yet. Finally, the STUDENTS had to tell me that I wouldn't be teaching there anymore due to the school being useless. I knew right then that I wouldn't be getting paid.
I immediately contact them requesting payment since the business had terminated the contract and was sent an exceptionally rude message stating that I had no right to be paid, which seriously threw me for a loop. I have no idea why she would say this except to attempt to bully me into accepting the non payment.
What sort of action should I take here? |

You could try to take them to court but if you're on Umowa o dzielo, it may difficult from what I've heard. It could also take years. Your best bet would be to get creative. If you've got any other contacts with other contracts that they have, threaten to contact them with your story. Do what you can to make life for the owners difficult, harrass and pursue. It is probably the only way... |

Yeah, I've heard of disgruntled employees tipping off the government offices that something is amiss causing multiple agencies, Urzad Skarbowy, ZUS etc. to send their workers to check it out. This is a major pain for the accountants at least as they have to prepare everything/cover the inaccuracies. |

Decide your objectives. What is your goal? A pound of flesh? Your back pay? The principle of the thing?
Personally, I cannot conceive of circumstances where going to court makes any sense. If I teach for someone who doesn't pay me, it's my decision as to the level of risk I would take on letting them pile up money owed. By the time you pay lawyers, miss work, go through the stress and spend all the time and money going to court, what have you really got?
If I was really peeved and wanted to go the pound of flesh or eye for an eye route, I'd go on the offensive to put them out of business via bad press and harassment. That said, you have to live and work in the here and now so consider your resources and blood pressure.
I'd be careful about the tipping off the government unless you are squeaky clean yourself. Those tricks can bite you if you aren't careful. |

Thanks for the advice guys. I've calmly responded to her emails, while she continues to sound like a child throwing a fit. I'll update later how it turns out.
In the meantime, I would advise against taking any courses with Thinkling or On the Ball. |

I actually had an interview with Jakub from On The Ball last November. Was told about a number of courses in Ochota, but never heard back from him afterwards. He did come off as quite aggressive, so after reading this thread I'm glad I don't work for them. |

Battery acid...Jakub's shiny car. You won't get your money but you'll feel better. |

I agree with dynow - just use the US as a means of threat. I am pretty sure that they pay taxes in a way which puts a big fat grin on the ordinary tax collector's face.
Good luck! |
Definitely the rout to go, Urzad Skarbowy and ZUS... two of the scariest institutions of crooks in this place. |
