Hello,

We are moving to Ningbo in August.
We will be given one week in a hotel, during which time we will have to search for an apartment with some help.

My school is in Yinzhou. What can people tell me about the rents around this are? Do they differ much from Central Ningbo.

We are a couple, so we only need one bedroom, a kithen and a toilet.

Is air-conditioning standard? If not, will we have to pay much more for an apartment with it?

Could anyone provide advice and tips and pitfalls to avoid.
What common scams do rental agencies try to pull on foreigners?

And, if possible, could someone provide a pricing guide for accomodation?

Look at Dong Hu Hua Yuan, 6000 got us a three bed, air-con, under floor heated massiveness. Loads of places around though bargain and bargain hard!

eep! I was told that 2000 would be more than enough for rent... Was I told wrong?

ganji.com is a great website to look at apartment classifieds and get a feel for what the going rent is in your area (or to actually find an apartment!). It is a chinese website, but if you use google chrome you can translate the whole page and navigate it. This link is for the yinzhou area of Ningbo. You have to sort through the ads looking for roommates, but i hope it helps.
