I have searched and have seen numerous figures pertaining to the cost of utilities. I have not seen ones that map out the specific costs individually.

A lot of apartments that I have looked at have water set at a certain price but then require you to pay electricity and gas each month. What can I reasonably expect to pay for those two (not including water)?

Also, OneJoelFifty suggested the site http://www.chintai.net/top/index.do to look for apartments on. Am I correct in assuming that I could arrange for an apartment overseas then?

I pay a flat rate of 2000 yen per month for water.

My stove top and hot water are electric so I don't pay for gas. My electricity bills ranges from 1500yen/month in the Spring and Fall to 4000yen/month in the Summer and Winter. My apartment is a smallish 1K.

My utilities at my current apartment are the cheapest that I've ever experienced here in Japan. It's great!

Thanks for the response! That number seems pretty nice. I guess I should keep in mind to look for an electric burner.
