I've looked around and this is literally the only Asylum and Refugee support available in my area. I've contacted two different voluntary centres thinking they would know of something happening and one was a waste of time and the other said they knew of no provision. This place was suggested by the college I received my certificate from.
I've made my intentions clear but the place seems to be run by well meaning but a rather lacking lady and a variety of "helpers" who attend the attached church. I suspect Power-Play is occuring with the teacher not wanting to give up her position (and not allow anyone else to be better than her).
I must admit over the weeks of attending and realising how little I was going to receive / be expected of me I haven't really put my best forward. I started off keen and well-motivated and then become quite despondent with the situation. Its something to put on my CV but its not going to help me long term ;(( |

I wasn't aware of what was in my area either, which is why I turned to my state's TESOL affiliate for assistance. They were very useful each time I needed information or advice. |
