A bit off topic I suppose but I thought someone here would likely know the answer.

I purchased a Samsung GT-E2250 cell phone - very basic but it has worked ok in other SE Asian countries.

The question is, is what are the odds I can buy a new sim in the US and it will work in the phone from Thailand?

I've looked in the phone's manual and inside the battery compartment but can't find anything on the Mgz's etc.. to check on the specs.....

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It will work. But only with a company that uses the same type of bandwidth. Verizon and Sprint won't work. ATT, T-mobile and a few others will work.

Cool, I guess you've had direct experience with it then? Do you happen to know what bandwith is used in Thailand for reference? How can you tell what bandwith your phone is on? Just curious. Thanks for responding.
