I just received an offer from the Higher College of Technology in Salalah.

I've been researching their site and academic calendar and have a question for those who've worked there, or in any of the other HCTs, I guess.

On the calendar it looks like you get two semester breaks, one in winter and spring. I remember talking to a few people who worked at the HCT in Ibra who said you can take one of these semester breaks for a vacation, but the other one you have to desk warm.... Is this true, or do you need to stay at the college for both semester breaks?

I worked at HCT Muscat. We had one semester break around end of December (usually after Christmas for about a week). The second semester break at the end of semester II, Mid April, I think. Yes, the students are off, but we do in fact desk warm. Hope that helps, and I just finished my contract so this relates to this past academic year.
