Does anyone know if it is possible to reside in Thailand and apply for an Iqama to Saudi from here? Or, is it necessary to fly home to the USA? |

In 2003, I was in Thailand and got a job in KSA. At the time, I was told I had to return to the USA for the work visa, which I did. I think you still have to go back to the USA and go through the expensive hassle of getting the proper visa. |

You could ask your future employer to send the visa to Bahrain where you can complete the medical (HIV/TB etc) as well. Pick up the visa after getting the medical completed at a local clinic, and take a short flight to wherever you're going in KSA. Job done. Don't forget to take original degree (or copy with embassy stamp/lawyers testimony - any reputable firm -). Bahrain also like to see any certificates of teaching and references so they know you are a teacher - though this is not important if you have the invitation from the employer, but you will need a police report - Royal Thai Police Report is okay if it covers 6 months, or you can get one from USA online now. |
