I was just asked the following question by a school representative:

Quote:
Do you have any teacher certificate like TESOL/TEFL? It is required for applying work permit in Taiwan, according to the law.

I've highlighted the interesting bit. First I've heard of it. Is this true?

Well, here's the answer to my followup comment, which was 'I thought only a Bachelor was required':

Yes - that's for language school. Our school is normal elementary/highschool and both degree & TESOL are required.
Maybe u can find a job at language school.

At the first sign of RED-TAPE, it is advisable to BEWARE!!!

If "u" like working without air-conditioners, teaching large classes (40+ students with mixed abilities) THEN you may enjoy the public schools.

Personally, I prefer AC, about 15 students, easy access to video equipment, photocopiers, etc.

But maybe that's just ME!

More later,

Taylor
