Dears,

I have many queries regarding the above-said company, but basically it is:

Does a company of the above-said name, AL TIN SHIPPING COMPANY, SALALAH, exist in SALALAH, and if yes, what is its repute and worth?

(The company offered me a job letter of Assistant Manager HR, without interview, just upon getting my CV, got from me 650 Omani Rials, issued me the visa, and then refused to give me the job, saying it no longer needs me!)

My Queries:

1. If one pays one's own Omani embassy official fee, how much is that in Omani Rials?

2. Is it common that Omani employers offer jobs without interview, only after receiving CV?

3. After the refusal of the company to hire me, my friend said that he would then apply for cancellation of the issued visa of mine, which he did, and further said that after 90 days of submitting visa cancellation application, the embassy would refund the paid official fee of 650 Omani Rials. My query is if the procedure told by my friend is true, or is he just killing time?

Actually the whole thing was done by my friend in Oman, who I think has frauded me, and I want to know the reality!

This is a board that is only related to teachers of English in the Gulf. It is doubtful that anyone will be able to tell you anything about hiring policies of private companies for general hiring.

We do nothing with visas as they are always provided by the employers and they pay all charges. It is standard in education that the teacher being hired pays no fees at all.

I suspect that you are just out the money that you have paid.

No embassy refunds monies ever--why would they? Take it as an experience and don't trust people who ask for money beforehand!
