I'm off back home England after 18 months in China, just thought I'd give my two pence about the company I worked for...
So yea, they sorted me out a work visa which was great considering I want to apply for university so it's great that I've actually got some legal record for my time here. They're really on the ball when it comes to this stuff, making sure you're here legally!
They suck a little on communication thing but I think that's more of a China thing rather than the company. Late schedule changes, schools further than anticipated (mind you GZ is a big city so it's to be expected!) and sometimes a rushed training period depending on whether term has already started. Probably the only real problem I had....
They always paid me on time and they recently moved in to a new, bigger location which looks groovy. You'll have a liaison who are super helpful, actually the staff there are really good but whatever school you're at just try to create a good relationship with the teachers there and your schedule will flow smoother. You'll then have the best of both sides.
The pay isn't as high as other companies but remember you're more than likely going to a public school rather than an international training centre. I still think it's pretty good though!
Yup, if you wan't to experience China, especially the Chinese education system, Chinese students and all that jazz then this company is a pretty good one to work for!

This sounds a little....off.
Perhaps I'm jaded. |

Guangdong universities generally pay more than other provinces' universities. Working for a company that places you in a university is an unnecessary situation that is bound to lower your salary. Better to either deal directly with a public school/university from the start or use a service that introduces teachers to schools for a one-time fee (paid by the school). |

Apologies to the dude who thought this was a little off. This is the only company I have worked for in China and I'm off home. I just wanted to mention it on here considering I scoured this site when I was searching for a job back in the day for reference and yea, just wanted to give anyone the thumbs up if they were scared about taking on a new opportunity! |

Did you work at a single location or were you farmed out? Hours? Salary? Office hours? Housing? Were you scheduled split shifts or were your classes grouped together within reason?
You say many positive things but few things of substance. Your post comes across as advertising to me in that regard. As I said, perhaps I am jaded though. If you had a purely positive experience I am glad for you, they are quite rare.
I hope your good luck continues in whatever path you follow. |
