I have been working at this school in a small province. (Anhui, Hefei.)
The school is not the greatest, and I have found a better job and have decided to resign. (The salary at the other job is twice as high. Teaching Chemistry.)
The problem is this: The school brought me to this province but registered me at the PSB of another province and under the SBFEA of the same province. They went a long way in their deception. Going so far as to: 1. Print up a fake contract in Wenzhou; 2. Print up a fake lease for an apartment; 3. Making a fake certificate of temporary registration in order to get the new residence permit.
As it turns out, my Education Supervisor here in Hefei is a real harridan we have quarreled on several occasions. I told them several days back that I was leaving and that I would need a proof of cancellation of my FEC. This is where it gets strange.
I pointed out that they could have written on the standard issue letter of the SBFEA that I had worked there for a month, and that it was not technically a letter of recommendation. Just a piece of paper among many others in the chain of custody.
The Education supervisor in Hefei had to go through the HR manager in Wenzhou (Zhejiang) because those are the people who falsified the necessary documents to get my visa. But she told her to not give me the letter because I stayed only a month.
I pointed out to the school that they were not in the best position because they had brought me here in contravention of the local SBFEA (and that is enough to make the local officials VERY ANGRY) and that I was only asking for what I needed to go on my way.
They would not budge, and so I did have to call the government. I am trying to figure out how to play my hand over these next days. The school says that they will contact the principal.
The Education Supervisor tried to bluff me and tell me that she had majored in Law at university and that I had no right to go to the SBFEA and if I did I would be deported. When I later spoke to the SBFEA, they laughed at what she had said and said that indeed I should get the paperwork from them.
Keep in mind that this school has already violated the contract in the way that they have made the probation two months long and the Labor Law says that it can only be one month for a one year contract. And they are also very chintzy. They've lowered the salary of our Course Consultants (They make less than 2,000 per month) and taken a deposit out of their salaries (both illegal).
I'm not sure what are the school's legal obligations and how to prove them. |

Your argument that they treat other people badly as a reason to leave holds about as much water as a paper cup in a campfire. None of us would have jobs if we looked at how bad the 'average Joe' got paid or got treated.
Also I have read contracts that have up to a three month probation clause in them. (Wuhan) So I'm not sure about that either.
That other crap sounds pretty serious though, the problem is that it seems until now that your a willing co-conspirator.
How did you get into such a mess? |
