When I was browsing the Cambridge Certification website, I came across these courses. Has anyone heard of these courses before and are these courses the same offered in the CELTA or Trinity certesol programs, or are they specialization courses for current teachers? I'd appreciate any thoughts from people who have taken them or heard about them before. You can click on the link to see the offered courses:
http://www.cambridgeenglishteacher.org/courses

Thanks,
Aaron

Been browsing their website, but it seems slow to load here (in China). I think it looks pretty good actually ... If you join as a member one course per year of membership is included, and the costs are reasonable, and the provider is recognised and accredited. Of course these courses are not a replacement for DELTA or an MA, but I could see these low-cost courses being of some value to both learner and prospective employer, especially at entry-level, or from moving on from entry-level positions.

I havent taught FCE for example, but I would imagine that if I was applying for a job where FCE is taught, the fact I was a subscribing member to the Cambridge website and had taken their FCE prep course would be seen as being favourable.

Thanks for the information. I am also in China working. I think I might take a few of these courses to better inform myself of how to teach and manage a classroom environment, since I'll be doing it as a semi part-time job for now.

Cheers,
Aaron

Just IMO. I think it does show a willingness to recognise further development, and that seems to be quite a useful thing in this game.

Im not sure of my plans long term yet ... but I have bookmarked the website to return to later. I may join and do some courses myself!
