Negotiating with them on an opening. This is supposedly an international school, but so far their top offer is low for a M-F 8-5 job (mandatory office hours).

Anyone with any experiences good or bad with this school that they would care to share?

A true 'international school' will require you to be registered as a teacher in your home country.
Nothing against plumbers, but if they are offering you a job and you aren't a registered teacher, chances are they are not what they say they are.
A registered teacher in an international school would command 4x what a lowly uni FT would get.

"International" gets thrown about fairly easily in China. It could mean they have a few flags representing different countries flying out front. It could mean they hire foreign, "international" teachers. It could mean they have a "sister" school in Germany or someplace. It could mean the principal speaks a little French. I mean, really, the interpretation of "international" is pretty loose around here.

I'm not really a plumber. If I was, I could command a much higher salary in the US than a teacher.

Maybe the school sits near an IHOP (International House of Pancakes)?

Deng's opening up policy has conferred benefits in the most unlikely ways. Very Happy
