I have read a lot of conflicting advice and info over the need for a BA to be able to teach in Costa Rica. Is there anyone out there that has taught in Costa Rica without or knows someone who has taught without one?
I have a foundation degree which is a recognized qualification in its own right but is only 2 years of a full degree. I fully appreciate that without a BA it may be harder to find employment or that I may not receive top pay but I wondered how much harder I would find it. I have 7 years experience as a teaching assistant if that helps in any way??
Thanks very much for your help. |

I pretty sure it is not a requirement at most schools, however it is getting more and more relevant. 10 years ago it didn't matter at all. Now directors are more interested. That being said I think if you have other important qualities and a great personality a good director will look past the lack of degree. Also unless you bring up the fact that your degree isn't a BA, the director is not going to notice/care. |
