|
|
I would really love to get a uni position in Istanbul, but am not sure if my experience and qualifications are sufficient.
I have a degree, MA ,(non - tefl) and TEFL (proper 120 hr, observed TP etc.) and experience, mostly in language schools.Would it be possible to land a position in a uni?
If so, I would REALLY appreciate and leads or institutions I could try as they don't advertise. I know its a little early to apply but I am starting my research now!
Thanks so much! |

You haven't given any details such as the language school experience, where and for how long? Obviously the more experience the better. In a foreign country, even better. Age, sex, marital status? And YES, these things are considered in Turkey. If you are older, male, and married your chances are better. If you are young, female, and single you will be scrutinized much more.
Not taking the above into consideration your chances are "limited" but not totally impossible. Your chances will increase GREATLY if you are in Turkey at the time and can apply in person. Regardless, Istanbul considered is prime real estate for ESL teachers and hoards of teachers chose it as a first destination, (for good reason) but you will have a lot of competition. The competition thins substantially as you travel out of the city. |
