Does anyone have any idea of the approximate hourly rate paid by reputable centers such as the British Council ........ and others?

Hourly rate for private tuition (general English - IELTS prep students)?

Thanks

I'm not sure what current rates are at BC, someone will answer that.

But, I would avoid private tuition for 2 reasons:

1. It may violate your contract if you have one.

2. Private students tend to not show up for appointments without calling in advance to cancel, and tend to not pay you. Unless it's a very special case, (like tutoring a member of the ruling family), I would avoid doing it, it usually is more trouble than it's worth.
